If you're not looking to drop 200 pounds on a pair of earbuds (and we don't blame you), this one might be more your speed: it's getting a little long in the tooth and it doesn't feature as many bells and whistles as others. The Optoma NuForce BE Sport 4 is a similar form factor and sounds very good for less than half the price.

Built from a sturdy premium metal casing, these are a great option if you're looking for something that you can throw around without concern and without breaking the bank. With IPX5 rating they're good for sweat and drizzle, but don't go dropping them in any significant body of water. Battery life is great, with up to 10 hours of listening time, and a quick 15 minutes of charge provides two hours of life.

They come with lots of different tips so you'll definitely find one that works for you, and all the usual controls feature on the in-line remote.

The sound quality is impressive for the price range, with rich mid tones and clear top note, it does lack a little bass but overall it provides an enjoyable experience. The Optoma NU Force BE Sport 4 are a good choice if you don't want to spend a fortune on headphones that are going to get covered in sweat but still want decent sound quality whilst you work out, they don't have the most extensive range of features but they are easy to use, lightweight and comfortable, more than enough to get you through the gym session.

Astounding audio quality for running headphones; great fit; top value for money; good battery life per single charge.

The audio quality here is easily good enough for these to be your day-to-day headphones. There's fantastic clarity and well-deployed bass. The noise isolation from the great fit does its bit to help with this. They're truly fab for this type of headphone.

Both the comfort and the sound quality convinced in our test as well as being within the £100 price range. Let's start with the wearing comfort. This one is very good! The earphones are well formed and the manufacturer puts a is a variety of different ear tips in the scope of delivery. Taking the sound quality into the consideration, the Nuforce BE Sport4 are more than solid! These can score with a very lively and dynamic sound, which is at or above the level of the most "sports earphones" we know."

Having angled nozzles also makes the fit more comfortable and secure in your ears.

NuForce BE Sport4 sound superb with a high volume gain too.

Wireless connectivity via bluetooth 4.1 is strong and stable with a 10-metre bluetooth signal range so you can keep your phone in a bag or pocket while working out in the gym.

The in-line 3 button remote has a built in mic with high sensitivity, meaning the microphone has a high volume so the person on the other end is able to hear you clearly without being close to the mic.

The bundled accessories are very generous and good quality.

I loved how these fit into my ears. The slim in-ear design gets a snug fit and no amount of shaking will get them out. They just seem to be better they other headphones in the same league, where some do one thing, these guys will do it better.

The sound was good, with soft edges and a really good all-around clarity.

For under £100, these are an awesome set of headphones. Great sound, awesome battery live and some features to boot. I highly suggest giving these a try.

The Bluetooth pairing was admirably simple, with no need for a dedicated phone app.

I would say that the sound quality is upper mid-pack.

Once you get the right earbuds and wings fitted, the bass quality is good without overwhelming the subtler aspects of whatever you're listening to.

I found the fit to be very good; no problems with earbuds coming loose or falling out.

At around £80, I'd say these earbuds represent good value. Significantly cheaper than some other offerings and better quality than others. The sort of money where you can be safe that you're buying a quality product, but not so prohibitively expensive that you'd be scared to use them!

If you're after a pair of earphones to workout with then it's not worth spending megabucks on them. They're gonna get sweaty, probably come with a luminous colour scheme and will have been made to prioritise fit over sound. Because of that whole sweat thing we just mentioned. Bearing all that in mind, the BE Sport4 earphones absolutely nail this balancing act. With a snug design, modest aesthetic and sound that's good enough for day-to-day shenanigans that don't involve a treadmill. Kudos.

Optoma's BE Sport 4 earphones manage to look good and sound great at the same time

The sound's pretty good too. The BE Sport 4s lack a bit of bass, but they provided a nice clear sound without being too tinny; something that afflicts plenty of other bluetooth earphones.

I found they got plenty loud enough to drown out the creaking treadmill I found myself running on in the gym and the snug fit helped squeeze out most exterior noise.

One of the issues I had with the Optoma Be Sport 3s was that there was a substantial lag from turning them on and them successfully syncing up with my phone.

But the syncing with the Be Sport 4s is almost instant and in testing I never had an issue with the connection.

I've worn the Optoma NuForce BE Sport4 during a few 5km runs, and with the right silicone tips, their stability has proved excellent. There are also some ear hooks in the box, for those wanting greater reassurance.

The Optoma Nuforce BE Sport 4 wireless headphones are the best sports headphones I have used bar none! I have owned several of the other "market leaders" or big recommended brands and they just don't compare, not even close. Sound quality is amazing and they are much more reliable and robust than anything else I have tried. I work out (pretty intensely) with these headphones 5-6 times a week and have done for little over a year now, they don't seem to have lost any performance in battery life or sound quality and they have taken more than fair use during this time, even surviving 2 accidental trips in the watching machine with the rest of my gym gear and came out fine both times. The bluetooth connectivity is solid and I haven't suffered any drops outs due to distance or interference in busy areas. The selection of war tip and fin attachments is also the best available to ensure a good fit for all (I haven't had these fall out of ear once in all their hours of use). All round solid performers well worth there weight in gold. Have recommended to several people at my gym and all are happy with them.

I workout hard in the gym 5 days a week and was fed up of uncomfortable earphones with a poor battery life and headphones were just too cumbersome for the sessions I do. So I splashed out on a set of Be Sport4's and I couldn't be happier now. The sound is superb, they're stylish and comfortable. They last beyond 7 hours of use with a really short charge time. The music I listen to is loud and bass heavy so these earphones work hard to give perfect sound and excellent noise cancellation. Worth every penny for a quality product. 10/10!
