I upgraded from an Intuos5 to the Cintiq 13HD. It's so much more like drawing with pen and paper. I really wish I'd gotten one of these years ago. It's so much easier to do sketches with this than an Intuos. There are very few things that I dislike about it, but there are a couple of things you may want to know up front:
#1, make sure that if your computer does not have an HDMI port (such as a Macbook Pro), that you go buy an HDMI adapter before using this. Because, well, you won't be able to use it unless you have this adapter because the 3-in-1 cord requires that you connect one plug into a USB port and another plug into an HDMI port. The tablet will work just like an Intuous or Bamboo tablet (showing your cursor move around on the screen) if you only plug it into the USB port, but it requires an HDMI connection for anything to show up on the Cintiq screen. I found this out the hard way and had to make a trip to Best Buy to get an HDMI adapter. It was like getting a Nintendo on Christmas day when I was a kid, and realizing that I didn't have the VHF adapter to actually play it on the tv.
#2, the connector cable that goes into the side of the Cintiq is sizable and the cord is thick, so it doesn't bend well. If you're going to sit this on a flat surface such as a desk and not move it around, you should be ok. But if you're like me and like to set the tablet in your lap and draw while you're sitting on your couch, be careful. Bending the cable and putting pressure on the connection point (where it goes into the Cintiq) can cause some problems down the road. I had a large Intuos5 tablet and it ended up being useless from me bending the connector cord plug so much, it broke some of the internal connections and stopped working. Don't let this happen with your Cintiq! Make sure the cord doesn't get bent, by trying to keep it straight as much as you can.
#3, if you have a Mac and are running any OSX earlier than 10.10 (I am running 10.9.5), then go download an older driver from the Wacom Asia site. (Couldn't find it on the English site). If you download the most current driver, it will tell you that you need to upgrade your operating system to something more current, since it won't run on anything earlier than 10.10.
#4, The Cintiq requires an AC connection, so you have to plug it into an AC power source. Connect the power cable BEFORE you plug it into your Cintiq. Also, connect it to your computer and turn you Cintiq on BEFORE you turn your computer on. Not doing this can result in a power surge and damage your tablet.
I contacted my insurance company and bought a personal items policy to cover my Cintiq. It's cheap as heck (just a few bucks a month) and covers any loss of the tablet. If I drop it by accident, the full amount is covered. Wacom won't cover stuff like this (to my knowledge). Take a minute or two and do this. $800 is a lot to flush down the toilet if you have an accident and destroy your tablet.

It's an okay tablet, not worth the price IMO why? The tablets colors seem a little dull to me, even after calibration, ever so to often the pen needs to be re-calibrated and that can take a few restarts before PC recognizes that I'm trying to do it. The bulky power cable is absurd, it's short, many plug-ins, your PC has to be right underneath or beside the tablet to make it functional, along with the positioning of the power plug-in, awkwardly placed on the side-middle of the tablet, it is not ideal for big setups as you are forced into keeping it in a few position and places on your desk. Mine actually stressed the port out so much it no longer stays secured, the wrong bump and everything is out. The stand it came with is garbage, bought whole new one to actually support it. I wouldn't say it's well built but...It gets the job done...

I've bought the Cintiq 13 HD a few years ago on Amazon for its portability and it has been nothing but a hellish struggle to have a proper working driver. My computer and OS are always up to date. I've tried every hack out there to keep their driver from all of a sudden stop working, from changing my USB settings, to dropping a text file for Photoshop to keep Wacom's driver active, along with disabling window's 10 ripple cursor effect. And not to mention their ugly 3 tail thick cord. I can't express how much frustration it is dealing with this product over the years. I'm surprised I've managed to make professional illustrations with it. If I were a creative shopper looking for tablets, I would buy some Chinese knock off tablet or use a surface tablet over Wacom's over hyped product and their useless pressure sensitivity boosts.

I was on the fence about buying the Cinitq 13HD for awhile because of the hefty price tag, but I knew I wanted to upgrade to something new. Finally I figured why not and saved up the money. I'm super glad I did, I can't IMAGINE not having this thing. The Wacom Cintiq 13HD makes my drawing so much more fluid, easier to use, and I can't find a thing I don't like about it. I would recommend that people who are new to tablets in general not start out with this product. It's much easier to get used to a simple wacom tablet before you move on to the pricier products. It did take some getting used to, and I had some tablet driver issues that was easily fixed. Now I can draw and extend screens easily and multitask while doing so.

I am absolutely and definitely in love with this item! I edit photos and like to doodle in my spare time, but trying to use a "basic" graphics tablet just never worked for me. It was frustrating trying to get my hand and the cursor on screen to match up, and no amount of practice seemed to work for me.
Enter the Cintiq 13HD. By the stars, I'm doodling better than ever and learning to draw new things more quickly and efficiently. I find that editing photos takes on a more engaging and enjoyable experience coming from both mouse and graphics tablet mediums. I can focus in on specific details with far greater ease. I feel more in control of the edits I make and the images I draw.
Would I recommend this to anyone in an image related field? Without a doubt! Wacom just needs to refine the technology and work on lowering the cost some! I can understand paying $800 for a Surface Pro with Wacom technology built in (including a pen), as that is a full-fledged computing system, but for something as "basic" as a monitor you can draw on? Maybe $600 instead.
Still, I have found my enthusiasm and drive increased using this device and wouldn't replace it for anything!
My only other con is the calibration method. It seems spotty at times, but otherwise mostly effective.
The colors seem great, and I haven't felt a need to even try to color calibrate this device as it seems "muted" enough almost to the point of the way my calibrated 27" LED BenQ monitor appears.

F****** love it. Best purchase ever. I attached an image I painted for my boyfriends tattoo, I did in a couple hours! I did A LOT of research before purchasing it, and the reason I chose the 13inch HD is this
- $200 cheaper than the pro (which claims to be better but doesn't even have a good stand, and the cable is bad)
-It's more compatible than the Pro
-Wacom has the best support and is the easiest to use/install software
-100% returnable, no return fee, responsive staff
I did have to return my first tablet because the circuitry was messed up (I could not use the left side of the monitor because the mouse would jump around sporadically, but apparently its a very rare occurrence). Only reason it lost a star is because it took WEEKS to get a new tablet. And I was unable to get an exchange, so I had to wait to be refunded (which took so long because they needed to receive the product, review it, and then refund me which takes DAYS).

5.0 de 5 estrellas Excellent for digital art

I use this all the time for drawing comics, its a great product to feel in touch with your digital art. There are a lot of wires involved because this needs to connect to your computer with an HDMI and a USB and needs to connect to a power source as well (it comes with a three way plug), but if that will not bug you too much then this is an excellent display for drawing. The side buttons are great shortcuts for whatever program your using and you can customize them in your settings. The stand is adjustable to three angles to suit your seating arrangement as well which is nice. The pen holder is lovely and comes with nib replacements too! Be sure to get the glove as well ;)

After over a year, it's still one of the greatest tablet I've worked with. Even though the 13 inch screen of the tablet is smaller than my 17.3 inch laptop, the image is still clear and sharp. The pen that came with the tablet had 12 extra nibs and I still didn't have to change it yet.
The screen is mate and it doesn't mirror your face; the light that falls on the surface doesn't affect the view. What's nice is that your bare hand slides well on the surface (the edges have anti-adhesive rubber integrated so your hand doesn't slip away). Though I do reccomend getting those fancy drawing gloves to make your hand glide naturally, protect the screen from your hand's natural oils, and it slso cleans tbe surface as you swipe it!

I've had this tablet for about a year now and I still really love it. It works well, the colors are much more accurate than my actual computer screen ever was with my old non-screen tablet. It comes with plenty of nibs for when they get worn down, plus a sleek case and a pen holder! The pen holder is really nice and I haven't lost my pen yet. There was a bit of an issue with installing because I was missing a specific wire to make it a second screen; without this wire it was basically just a normal non-screen drawing tablet. It worked fine but I couldn't use it as a display without this extra wire, so that put a bit of a dent in the installation process to figure out what I needed and pick it up. Sometimes if you use your pen too close to the edge of the tablet it doesn't connect, so as long as you don't use it around the edges it works really well. I did notice that once I knocked the wire by accident and it made the whole screen turn to static but when I re-adjusted it, it went right back to normal. Which isn't really an issue so long as you aren't moving the wire and its plugged securely.
The screen is maybe a bit smaller than I would like, but I didn't want to spend a bunch more money for the 16 inch one since while that one has a bigger screen it does not have express keys. The 13HD has express keys which, for my desk set up and the way I work, was very important as I don't have easy access to my keyboard where my tablet is but I rely very heavily on my shortcuts for things.
I was worried about scratching the screen as sometimes I use a rather heavy hand, but there is a screen protector available for this tablet and it works really well for protecting my screen (it comes with 2 protectors I believe in the package and its pretty easy to install). When lights shine on the screen however, its a bit annoying but I usually just angle my tablet out of the lights reflection and that works fine for me.
Overall I'm really happy about this tablet, it works really well and for a first screen tablet I'd definitely recommend it.
